Get Married at Sea

Romantic Wedding at Sea

Get married at sea for a 'Wow' factor wedding and wedding pictures

How romantic to get married or renew your vows on a cruise ship by the Captain under the sunshine with the sea in the background

Not only that but you can sail off onto the honeymoon of your dreams straight after, and you only have to unpack once!

The average traditional English wedding costs £21,000 (according to Mintel); a wedding at sea can cost significantly less.

A wedding package at sea includes the price of The Cruise based on 2 adults sharing a cabin (flights included where applicable). The wedding package, wedding license fee, photographs, hand held bridal flowers and one tier wedding cake, (though it is worth checking on what is offered by individual cruise lines).

Discounts and amenities will be offered on group bookings where the couple want to bring their family and friends. The usual things included in a cruise also apply: fantastic service; top quality food and accommodation, entertainment; use of facilities e.g. swimming pools, gym, and spa.

Whether you choose to marry on-board against the backdrop of the sun setting on the horizon, or at a stunning shore based venues you can be assured of the highest levels of service, the finest cuisine and memories that you will cherish for the rest of your lives. A vast array of itineraries is available including the Mediterranean, Caribbean, Exotic Far East and even Alaska.

There is very little organising and stress involved in a cruise wedding or vow renewal as you will be given a wedding coordinator who will meet you on board and discuss any extras to your wedding package. This can include a higher tier cake, more flowers, gifts from the groom to the bride and vice versa, champagne breakfast in bed on the morning of the wedding, spa treatments, hair appointments, photographer etc., so still some decisions to make if you would like to make your wedding more customised to you both.

For the more adventurous, a shore based ceremony opens the door to a range of alternative locations e.g. waterfalls, glaciers, vineyards, coral reefs or even the jungle

Amanda Smith advise's 'any couple planning a wedding at sea to book early as it can take a few weeks to process your marriage license for weddings at sea and to make sure that the Captain is available for your special ceremony. There are plenty of options to make you day your own and very special.'
Not all of the cruise lines offer weddings at sea due to legal limitations which are based on the cruise ship's country of registry. Don't worry the cruise lines that do carry out the weddings use a Bermudian marriage licence which is legal all over the world.
